Explaining Horse Breaking

Explaining Horse Breaking:

A western video can be rented by anyone interested in learning the basic way of horse breaking used in the past. The method is just good for watching because there are now considerably more gentle ways to break in a horse.

I prefer not to use the term shattering since it implies force. Horse breaking is ultimately horse training. The basic strategy of getting a horse to submit to man is the same whether the horse is being trained for work or pleasure.

There are two main approaches for training horses: old and new. The ancient method is still in use today, but it has been modified and altered over time. That is to say, in most countries where horse people are educated, the horse is no longer harmed.

In the old days, a horse would be tied to a fence for hours until he had no more fight in him, allowing the rider to sit in the saddle without being bucked off. Today, man has thankfully learned to collaborate with horses rather than simply dominating them.

Natural horsemanship is a new form of training that isn't wholly new, but the trend and following are. The horse does not yield to man in natural horsemanship, as opposed to easy horse breaking.

Instead, man learns to speak with horses in their own language and takes over as the herd's leader. You don't have to be a seasoned horse trainer or a natural horsemanship enthusiast to recognize that violence isn't required to train a horse. It pays to respect the horse no matter what technique of training you use.

You have no business training a green horse if you are not a skilled horseman. A green horse is a horse that has never been broken and hence has received very little if any, instruction. I mention this because a green horse will be brave and challenge you, and you may be inclined to respond with force or violence as a result of your fear.

Have a knowledgeable trainer with you while considering training a young horse if you have never done so before. Many individuals are enticed to buy untrained or green horses because they are generally less expensive than trained horses.

Again, if you lack the ability to train the horse without resorting to violence and force, seek assistance or send it to a trainer first.

When you take the time and effort to teach a horse humanely and successfully, you end up with a horse that enjoys being handled and can be handled by most people. In that manner, you can establish a trusting relationship between man and horse, which is necessary for your horse to perform at its best.

The beginning of training a horse to work with humans is horse breaking. When it comes to horse breaking, there is no excuse nowadays. It only makes sense to build a long-term trusting connection through compassion. It will be repeatedly demonstrated that horses do not require being forced into submission. What a lovely sensation it is when a large, powerful animal genuinely wishes to please us.
